Important information for those applying:
If any parents are having difficulties getting their child's paperwork from their middle school, please send any completed documentation forward as soon as possible regardless of that missing information.

Criteria For Selection

Who Can Apply

Students who fall within the following criteria:

  • current 8th grade students
  • low socioeconomic status
  • first generation college-going youth
  • underrepresented students
  • students under performing in the traditional setting who have the potential to be successful.

Criteria For Selection

To be selected, students must fit the following criteria:

  • Completed application by family
  • Most recent (7th grade) California state scores (Baseline – Basic level or above in Language Arts and Math)
  • 8th grade report card – first and second progress report (Baseline – 2.00 GPA)
  • Parent and student interview
  • Student written essay (completed during the interview process)
  • Prior educational experience (attendance, discipline, etc.)
  • Recommendation from the middle school
