Academics: Business Computer Studies and Economic Development

Preparation for careers in a variety of business-related fields starts with a two-prong approach in Antelope Valley College’s Business and Computer Studies Division. Students get the hands-on training needed for certification while learning the fundamentals required for people to be well educated in a particular discipline. This emphasis on mastering the fundamentals provides a solid foundation that students can use to grow and adapt in a rapidly changing business environment.The division boasts a faculty with real-life experience in business and industry. These faculty members are able to tie their experiences to practical applications within the classroom or computer lab, providing students with the understanding they will need to succeed in the business world. Classes are available for those planning to transfer to a four-year university, enter the business world or those seeking to upgrade their skills. Students can find a variety of day, evening and weekend courses to fit their schedules. Students have access to modern computer labs, including state-of-the-art labs and classrooms in the new three-story Business Education Building and Applied Arts Building.
