Professional Development Courses: Career Planning for Law Enforcement

In this seminar, Lt. Ron Shreves, LASD Ret., gives a comprehensive look at the law enforcement discipline, providing the student with a candid understanding of what a career in law enforcement entails. Participants will learn the best ways to prepare for the entry process and receive valuable tools for successful employment and advancement. Participants will take a sample civil service examination and be offered a mock oral interview. Lt. Ron Shreves will also make himself available to participants for future mentoring and advice as they move through the hiring process.
Fee: $55   (Material Fee: $5 at class)

About the Instructor

Lt. Ron Shreves retired from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 2003 after 33 years of service. His last assignment was commander of the Sheriff’s Lancaster Station Detective Bureau. His myriad experience includes the creation and management of a Crime Analysis Unit and the management of multiple long-term covert operations. Shreves currently serves as an adjunct instructor in the Administration of Justice Program at Antelope Valley College. He has lectured in seminars around the country.
