Professional Development Courses: Special Topics in Mediation
In this course, advanced topics will include: mediating in the courts, working with parties who are represented by counsel, legal terminology, confidentiality and ethics. Other topics may include selected areas of interest such as: convening, alternative mediation styles, the state of the art and industry and/or legislation affecting mediation and public access.
Fee: $55 (Material Fee: $5 at class)
* Continuing education/professional development hours for various fields may be available on advance request and approval. MCLE approval pending.
Note: Individual classes in the mediation program may be taken for personal or professional development* only. However, to achieve the 40-hour Mediator Certificate of Completion, all five classes in the series must be completed. There are no prerequisites, but it is recommended that classes be taken in sequence, if possible. Any class may be cancelled for under-enrollment (fewer than 10); therefore, it is recommended that certificate seekers register at least two weeks prior to the first class meeting.
