Professional Development Courses: Mediation & Violence Prevention
This course examines workplace, school, and family violence and proposes proactive management, institutions, and solutions to potentially dangerous situations and behaviors. Instructor Linda Hughes and guest presenter Joseph Maizlish, MFC, will introduce statistics and real stories to explore causes, effects and mediation-derived prevention strategies. Emphasis is on prevention but post trauma and response will also be introduced.
Fee: $35 (Material Fee: $3 at class)
Note: Individual classes in the mediation program may be taken for personal or professional development* only. However, to achieve the 40-hour Mediator Certificate of Completion, all five classes in the series must be completed. There are no prerequisites, but it is recommended that classes be taken in sequence, if possible. Any class may be cancelled for under-enrollment (fewer than 10); therefore, it is recommended that certificate seekers register at least two weeks prior to the first class meeting. Classes will be closed (capped) at 20 enrollees. Questions or comments may be directed to the instructor, Linda Hughes, at lahughes48@aol.com or at www.lahughes.com
