Corporate and Community Services: Registration and Program Guidelines

How To Register

  • Complete one Community Services Registration Form for each person who would like to enroll in classes/activities. You may make as many copies as needed.

  • Payment methods accepted are credit card or debit card with a Visa or MasterCard logo, personal check or money order or cash for exact amount only. Please note: A $25 service charge will be assessed on any returned check. This amount is in addition to the course and/or material fee(s) still owed.

Refund Policy

  • Full refunds will be issued only if the college cancels a class or the class is full at registration. In either case, you will be contacted and automatically issued a refund.

  • Participants who have registered for class, but find they can no longer attend must contact the community education office no later than three working days prior to the start of class or before any stated registration deadline. After that point, no refunds will be made under any circumstances. A $10 processing fee is retained on all student-initiated refunds.

  • Check or money order payments are refunded by a check from Antelope Valley College. Visa or Master Card payments are credited back to the same account.

  • Please allow two weeks for processing of refunds.

  • Most community services classes are not-for-credit and do not earn college credit. There are no transcripts or grades.

  • Community services offers a variety of non-credit, continuing education (CEU) and certification courses

  • Registration for each class is accepted on a first come first serve basis. Please enroll early to ensure your participation.

  • Children under the age of 18 may not attend classes unless specific in the class listing or with prior consent of the program director.

  • Course fees may be paid three business days prior to the class start date. Financial aid is not available for community services courses. Some classes have material fees in addition to the registration fees and must be paid at first class meeting.

  • Minimum enrollment levels must be met for each class in order for the class to remain self supporting. We therefore reserve the right to cancel, postpone or combine classes or change class dates/location. When Changes are made to any class, every reasonable effort will be made to notify participants by phone or mail

Parking Information

  • AVC parking regulations are in effect day and evening, seven days a week. Parking citations are issued if the permit is expired or not properly displayed.

  • If you do not have an AVC parking sticker, you must purchase a daily parking permit from the dispensers that are located alongside each parking lot. The permits cost 50 cents, and are only good on the date purchased.

Visitors and Pets

Visitors are not allowed in class. Pets are not allowed on campus or in class except for certified assistance dogs for the disabled or assistance dogs in training.
