Academics: GED

The General Education Development Program (GED) is a series of non-credit courses that prepares students to take the GED Test in literature and arts, writing, math, science and social studies. Many students gain high school equivalency and increase employability by taking GED classes.

AVC GED Provides:

  • Assessment of current skills and placement in GED classes.
  • FREE orientation to all college services.
  • FREE classes on all basics covered in GED test.
  • FREE books and materials for qualified recipients.
  • Support services for all students for the length of the program.

GED Opens Doors

  • For admission to colleges, universities and vocational or academic programs.
  • To job opportunities and career advancement.
  • To becoming a successful role model for others.
  • To increased self confidence and improved quality of life.
