Expansion of the Automotive complex to include a new Auto Body facility is currently in design and expected to be complete for Fall 2009 classes. The new 5,460-square-foot facility will provide new state-of-the-art facilities to help students develop and sharpen their skills in the field of auto body technology. The new Auto Body facility will include two downdraft paint booths for full size vehicles, a paint mixing room, two paint prep bays, two garage bays, a frame bay, tool room and a multimedia classroom with 18 computer stations and 24 lecture stations. Additional exterior staging and storage areas will also be included in the project to support the Automotive and Auto Body programs. Consolidating the Automotive and Auto Body programs will also result in improved vehicle access and safer pedestrian conditions around the complex. This instructional facility is funded with Measure R bond funds.
