State funding approval of the future Health and Science Building in 2005 created the requirement to relocate the facilities services functions and Receiving/Warehouse to the north side of the campus per the Facilities Master Plan. The new Facilities Services and Receiving/Warehouse complex is designed to meet the anticipated growth of the district. Facilities Services includes the functions of facilities planning, building maintenance, grounds maintenance, custodial services, campus events, transportation services and recycling and waste management services.
The new Facilities Services complex will provide improved capabilities resulting in more effective planning maintenance and operational support of district facilities.
The existing Receiving/Warehouse function is severely constrained by its current area of only 1,500- square-feet. In addition, the current location of Receiving makes it difficult for larger trucks to make deliveries. The new Receiving/Warehouse facility will provide 20,000 square feet of space. This will allow for proper protection of district supplies and assets and will allow for cost saving bulk purchases. Access to Receiving by delivery vehicles will be much easier and safer. Design of the new complex includes significant energy efficiency and safety improvements.
