How to Access the eAVC Web Site

1. Access the Antelope Valley College Web site at http://www.avc.edu.
2. Click on the eAVC link to enter the eAVC Online Services page.
3. eAVC is a secure Web site. In other words, all information located on the site is considered personal and confidential. All information that you enter while visiting eAVC is encrypted for your privacy and protection. In order to enter eAVC, you need a valid user ID and PIN.
Your user ID is typically your Social Security number (without dashes). You may also use a nine digit generated student ID number.
Your PIN defaults to your birthday in MMDDYY format. For example, if your birthday is February 4, 1981, your PIN would be 020481. It is recommended that you change your PIN for added security. Keep reading to learn how to change your PIN.
Click the eAVC Secure Login link to enter eAVC.
4. If this is your first visit to eAVC, you will be prompted to enter a security question and answer. The question and answer that you supply will allow you to reset your PIN in the event that you forget it. Click on the “Submit” button after entering your question and answer.
5. Again, if this is your first visit to eAVC, you will see the “Terms of Usage” for eAVC. If you agree to the terms, click the “Continue” button, otherwise click the “Exit” button.
6. You are now at the “Main Menu” for eAVC.

FAQs

Q: How do I know my registration really went through?
A: When you register via eAVC anything that appears in the “Current Schedule” section is real. It all happens that moment. You are not registered for classes that appear in the “Registration Errors” section. All registration errors include a status box (to the right) that tells you why it didn’t work (i.e., closed class, instructor permission needed, etc.). Once you resolve the error, you can register for the class.

Q: What do I do if I have a problem with my PIN when logging into eAVC?
A: Contact the Office of Admissions and Records at (661) 722-6504.

Q: How do I get a printout of my schedule?
A: There are two menu items that show you a schedule. One is called the “Student Detail Schedule” and shows information about each class. The other is called “Student Schedule by Day and Time” and is a chart of your schedule. You may print either one.

Q: I couldn’t find the days and times of the classes when I was registering. Where are they?
A: The “Add/Drop Classes” page doesn’t show times in the “Current Schedule” section. You can see more about your classes by using either the “Student Detail Schedule” or the “Student Schedule by Day and Time” menu items.

Q: Where can I find out about my registration holds?
A: Registration holds can be viewed on eAVC by clicking “View Holds” on the “Check Your Registration Status” menu.

Q: Where can I check on my registration appointment?
A: At the “Main Menu,” click on “Student Services and Financial Aid.” Select “Registration,” then select “Check your Registration Status,” “Select Term,” and “Submit Term.” This will display your registration appointment time and other information.

Q: Where can I check to see which classes are still open?
A: Click on “Look-Up Classes to Add” under the “Registration” menu. Select the subject(s) you are interested in, along with any additional criteria, and click the “Class Search” button. You can select more than one subject by holding down the CTRL key as you click on additional subjects.
