Duck Race
Duck Season is open in the 6th Annual Antelope Valley Rubber Duck Race at the City of Palmdale's DryTown Water Park. Proceeds support more than 80 local nonprofits and youth programs, of which Antelope Valley College is a main beneficiary. Join us this year on Saturday, September 17th, 2011 for the chance to win $1 Million and a fun night supporting AVC. Gates open and quacktivities start at 6 p.m. The big race begins at 8 p.m.
HOW DO I ENTER?
Support the organization of your choice and "adopt" ducks by clicking on the “TEAMS” tab at DuckRace.com/AntelopeValley. Businesses can also purchase a promotional large-size duck for a donation of $100. These big ducks can be "duckorated" to represent your business at the Big Duck Business Race during the DryTown event. To purchase big ducks, call the AVC Foundation at (661) 722-6300, Ext. 6391.
HOW DO I WIN THE MILLION DOLLAR DUCK?
For every 3,333 ducks in the race, one duck is tagged with a million-dollar number. The AV Rubber duck Race typically has at least 4 ducks in the million-dollar running. If one of the specially tagged ducks enters the finish line first, that duck's adopter wins the $1 Million. Winners need not be present.
HOW DO I GET TICKETS TO THE RACE?
Everyone is encouraged to attend this family-friendly event at DryTown Water Park. Duck adoptions do not include entry into the park. Ticket prices are: $3 for a "dry ticket" to view the race only, or $5 for a "wet ticket" including access to water park attractions. DryTown's snack bar with full menu also will be open during the event. Outside food and drinks are not permitted. Park tickets can be purchased at the AVC Foundation (661-722-6300, Ext. 6391) or at the door. We hope to see you there!
