Events: AVC Concert Bands "Pops" Concert and the Applied Music Recital

The inaugural concert season will continue in AVC's new Performing Arts Theatre on Tuesday, November 29th and Wednesday, November 30th with a wonderful variety of instrumental and vocal music.

Please join us on Tuesday, November 29th at 7:30pm for a recital of solo music featuring our applied instrumental and vocal music students. A variety of classical musical styles will be presented with solos for voice, guitar, piano, clarinet, saxophone, and percussion. The new Steinway Concert Grand Piano will also be featured.

The next evening, on Wednesday, November 30th  at 7:30pm, we will present the AVC Concert Bands in a long awaited "Pops" Concert.  The program will include selections from musical theatre ("Into the Woods" and "Oklahoma!"); hit movies ("Pirates of the Caribbean"); jazz ("Birdland" and "Stormy Weather"); and rock (medleys of the greatest hits of Stevie Wonder, Journey, and Led Zeppelin). Faculty who attend this concert earn two hours of Professional Development credit, Standard Two.

For both of these concerts, tickets are only $5 for students/seniors and AVC employees with ID, and $10 for adults. (Note: up to 2 tickets may be purchased at the discounted rate with a single ID). Tickets will be available for purchase at the Box office beginning two hours prior to concert time so try to arrive a bit early.

Again, the Visual and Performing Arts Division at Antelope Valley College is honored to present the inaugural season of the new Performing Arts Theatre and we hope to see you there!
