Notary public training and exam offered at AVC

People interested in working as notary publics can learn how to perform the job and prepare for a required state exam through “Notary Public Workshop” offered through Antelope Valley College’s Corporate and Community Services Office.

Prospective students can choose from one of four different workshop offerings on Aug. 29, Sept. 19, Oct. 17 or Nov. 14.

Betty Bosley will lead the workshops, which will be followed by the two-hour state examination to become a notary public.

The workshop fee is $70, plus a $45 material fee payable at the class. Students must also have a check or money order for $40 payable to the Secretary of State, as well as valid identification and a two-inch-square passport photo.

The daylong workshops each begin at 8 a.m. Students are advised to bring a sack lunch.

Students may register online at or contact the Corporate and Community Services Office at, (661) 722-6300, ext. 6584.

Upon request three days before the event, reasonable accommodation will be provided to facilitate the participation of covered individuals with disabilities.  Call (661) 722-6360 (voice/relay).
