California Guard Card course to be held at AVC

An eight-hour training course to secure a California Guard Card will be conducted 6 p.m. Fridays, Jan. 29 and Feb. 5 by Antelope Valley College’s Corporate and Community Services Office at the Lancaster campus, 3041 W. Ave. K, Room BE 242.

Bruce Rowe will teach the course, which includes instruction in the power to arrest. Students successfully completing this course are prepared to continue with the California Campus Security Officer course.

The California Guard Card course costs $45, plus another $20 for materials. Students are required to pay for fingerprinting, $76, and licensing, $50, to obtain the card.
