Learn to sell on the world’s largest online marketplace

Learning to sell on eBay, the world’s largest online marketplace, is the focus of an all-day workshop offered by Antelope Valley College’s Corporate and Community Services Office.

Prospective sellers can choose from any of “The Basics of Selling on eBay” courses offered 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays July 17, Aug. 21, Sept. 25, Oct. 23 or Nov. 13. The course will be taught by Brenda Lewis Hawkins, a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles and an education specialist trained by eBay.

Approximately 84 million active users are on eBay, selling nearly $60 billion worth of items in 2007, according to eBay Inc.

Students will learn to conduct research, create and enhance listings, set profit maximizing pricing, open and use Pay-Pal accounts, monitor sales and avoid costly mistakes.

Cost of the workshop is $45, plus an optional $20 material fee payable at class. Students may register online at or contact Corporate and Community Services at (661) 722-6300, ext. 6584.

The workshop will be taught at Antelope Valley College’s Lancaster campus, 3041 W. Ave. K.
