Food handler certification offered at AVC

Food service employees needing to meet state safety requirements can enroll in a Food Handler Certificate course offered Saturday (March 27) through Corporate and Community Services at Antelope Valley College.

The class meets 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in room BE 248 at the Lancaster campus, 3041 W. Ave. K. Cost is $128.

The course utilizes the ServSafe program offered by the National Restaurant Association and includes hygiene, certification, food storage, health regulation and basic work skills. Debra Smith, food service supervisor at Antelope Valley College, will teach the course.
