Workshop set to help non-accountants

Helping non-accountants acquire accounting skills is the focus of a one-day workshop offered 9 a.m.-5 p.m. this Saturday, May 8, through Antelope Valley College’s Corporate and Community Education Office.

“Accounting for Non-Accountants” is a hands-on workshop suited for small business or home use.

Instructor Annette White will discuss the accounting cycle and flow of transactions; accounts, journals and ledgers; handling petty cash; different bookkeeping systems for different types of businesses; accounting-related jobs; and computerized accounting programs.

Cost of the class is $90, plus a $10 material fee payable at class.
