Get help with finances at AVC

Financial tips and strategies will be among the topics of a two-hour workshop on “Family Financial Success” to be presented noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 through Antelope Valley College’s Corporate and Community Services Office.

Kimberly Perkins, business development officer with First City Credit Union, will conduct the workshop. Perkins will discuss the difference between banks and credit unions, how checking and savings accounts work, budgeting, certificates of deposit, loans, credit cards and how to use automated teller machines safely.

Also, avoiding identity theft will be discussed.

The course will be held at the Lancaster campus, 3041 W. Ave. K.
