Fundraising workshop to provide proven examples

Simple yet proven examples of fundraising will be the focus of a one-day workshop “Fundraising Fundamentals” presented 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 by Antelope Valley College’s Corporate and Community Services Office at the Lancaster campus, 3041 W. Ave. K. The workshop will meet in BE 243.

"Unlike sales, fundraising requires exceptional political, interpersonal and research skills," said instructor Dr. John C. Drew. Drew is with the Drew and Associates management consulting firm in Laguna Nigel.

Drew will introduce simple but proven ideas for success. Participants will learn how fundraising has evolved, and how new software, New Raiser's Edge and Fundraiser, will make it easier to track donors and reduce the pressures of a face-to-face request.

Students may register online at http://www.avc.edu/academics/ccs/ or contact the Corporate and Community Services Office at (661) 722-6300, ext. 6584. Cost is $50, plus a $34 material fee.

Upon request three days before the event, reasonable accommodation will be provided to facilitate the participation of covered individuals with disabilities. Call (661) 722-6360 (voice/relay).
