Palmdale Center director named

A director for career and technical education programs at an Orange County college district has been selected as the director for Antelope Valley College’s Palmdale Center.

Sharon Dalmage was named Monday by college district trustees to replace Dr. Robert Bell, who resigned earlier this year to accept another job.

Dalmage has served as career technical education director at the North Orange County Community College District since 2007. There she had responsibility for operations of the Career Technical Education Division and for developing programs, grant development and income generating programs.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from the University of California, Riverside and a master’s in business administration from Keller Graduate School of Management. She is working to complete a doctorate in organizational leadership at Pepperdine University.

Dalmage’s professional activities include serving on the communications board for the Association of California Community College Administrators and the board of directors for the American Society of Quality, and the Southern California Biomedical Council’s Workforce Development Committee.

Dalmage is expected to begin her new duties in January.
