One-day courses in “Introduction to Mediation” and “Mediation as a Second Career” will be offered March 5 and 12 through Antelope Valley College’s Corporate and Community Services Office.

“Introduction to Mediation” will provide an overview of the field, how it works, advantages and disadvantages, and how it has become a fast-growing means of resolving disputes in the courts, in business and in other areas.

The introductory course will meet 9 a.m.-noon March 5 in LS2 151 at the Lancaster campus, 3041 W. Ave. K.

“Mediation as a Second Career” will help people to explore whether mediation is a good career choice. The class will meet on March 12 from 9 a.m.-noon at the Lancaster campus in room LS2 151.

Both courses are led by Linda Hughes, who has almost two decades experience as a mediator and trainer in Southern California. She has a master’s degree in conflict management and a law degree.
