A night of comedy improvisation to be offered at AVC

Antelope Valley College’s Theatre Arts Department will present a night of comedy with the AVC Improv players 7 p.m. Saturday, May 19 in the Performing Arts Theatre, 3041 W. Ave. K, Lancaster.

Taking suggestions from audience members, actors will utilize quick wit and creative imagination to create off-the-cuff comedy.

The AVC Improv Players are students from the college’s improvisation class, THA 130. Director Rick Hernandez, an adjunct instructor and former AVC student, has taught improv and drama for 18 years at Paraclete High School.

Hernandez was trained at The Groundlings Theatre in Hollywood and is a former stand-up comedian with the comedy team Rice and Bean.

Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the AVC Marauder Bookstore. Any remaining tickets may be purchased one hour before the show at the Performing Arts Theatre box office.
