Three finalists for vice president's job to appear at public forums

Three candidates for the assistant superintendent/vice president administrative services position at Antelope Valley College will be on campus for public forums and to meet with campus constituents Dec. 4-6.

The forums will be held 3 p.m. in the Board Room, SSV 151, at the Lancaster campus, 3041 W. Ave. K, beginning with LaMont Schiers on Dec. 4; Dr. Albert Alt on Dec. 5; and Mazie Brewington, Dec. 6.

Schiers is the executive director of administrative services at Bakersfield College, where he’s been employed since 2008. He has a master’s degree in management from Keuka College in New York.

Alt served as vice chancellor for the Yuba Community College District for three years and prior to that he was director of personnel six years at Yuba. He earned a doctorate in higher education leadership from Drexel University and a master’s in business administration from California State University, Chico.

Brewington served three years as vice president of administrative services for Merced College. Prior to that, she served at Solano College. Brewington has a master’s in business administration from Troy State University in Alabama.

College trustees will make the selection of the new vice president, to fill the position left vacant by the resignation of Deborah Wallace in June 2011.
