"Music for Two Orchestras" launches AVSOMC 2012-13 concert season

Two orchestras combine to make beautiful music together, as the Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra joins forces with the Palmdale Symphonic Orchestra in concert, Saturday Oct. 20 at 7 p.m., at the Antelope Valley College Performing Arts Theatre.

 “Music for Two Orchestras”, under the direction of Dr. David Newby, kicks off the Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra’s 2012-13 concert season.   The program features Tchaikovsky’s  Allegro moderato from Serenade for Strings in C Major, Op. 48; Brahms’ Hungarian Dances and Beethoven’s  Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major (Eroica).  A curtain-raiser lecture will precede the concert at 6 p.m.

The Antelope Valley College Performing Arts Theatre is located at 3041 W. Ave. K in Lancaster. Ticket prices for this performance are $20 general admission, $18 senior, military and AVC staff, and $10 student. Regular box office hours are Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with extended hours on the day of performance.
