AVC offers instruction in Arabic language

An introductory course in learning to read, write and speak Arabic will be offered this fall through Antelope Valley College's Corporate and Community Services Office.

Dr. Estiphan Panoussi, professor emeritus of Arabic from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, will teach the 11-week, non-credit course, Arabic Step 1, on Wednesdays beginning 5 p.m. Sept. 25.

Students will learn the distinction between Arabic and other Semitic languages, the Arabic consonantal alphabet and its phonological value, and other factors designed to help people to learn the Arabic language.

Cost of the course is $300. People may register online at: http://www.avc.edu/academics/ccs/.
