2013 Anthro Expo

The 2nd Annual Anthropology Department Open House will be held in the Health and Sciences building at Antelope Valley College on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 1-10 p.m. The event will feature presentations by students, faculty, alumni and special guests. The keynote speaker is Dr. Mark Q. Sutton, Emeritus Professor of Anthropology, CSU Bakersfield.

In addition, Ancestral DNA raffle tickets will be on sale between November 12 and December 2.  The winner, who will be announced on December 4, will contribute to scientific research and find out if they have Neantertal DNA, where their ancestors came from, or if they have an inherited condition. Tickets are $3 for one ticket or $5 for two tickets. The lucky winner will be announced on December 4, 2013.
