A celebration of the diverse cultures of 53 French-speaking nations will be held during Antelope Valley College’s Francophone Festival, Nov. 9 and 15.
“What is Francophonie” will feature Yves Magloe from Pasadena City College followed by Dr. Stanley Viltz discussing “African Roots, DNA and Cameroon,” from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 in LH 102 on the Lancaster campus, 3041 W. Ave. K.
Performing arts will take stage from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 in the college Cafeteria featuring African dances and drums by Todd Casheta and Akaaya Atule from Southwestern College, and Cindy Littlefield and her troupe performing African dances. Other activities will include a gospel group performance and displays of Francophone countries.
