Antelope Valley College’s Commercial Music Program
and Theatre Arts Department are collaborating to present “American
Idiot,” Green Day’s groundbreaking punk/alternative
rock concept album in concert on Friday, July 25 and Saturday,
July 26 at 7 p.m. in the AVC Black Box Theatre, 3041 W. Ave.
K, Lancaster.
Tickets are $5 for students with identification, and $10
for general admission. Tickets may be placed on “will
call” by telephoning the Theatre Arts Department Ticket
Hotline at (661) 722-6300, ext. 6728. Tickets may also be
purchased at the Black Box beginning at 6:30 p.m. each night
of the performance.
Often referred to as a punk rock opera, “American Idiot”
includes the Grammy Award winning “Boulevard of Broken
Dreams,” “Holiday,” “Wake Me Up When
September Ends,” and “Jesus of Suburbia.”
Seen as a social commentary on American attitudes, politics
and pop culture, “American Idiot” is recommended
for mature audiences due to strong language and subject matter.
