Assessment Center: Pre-Assessment Workshops (PAWs)

  • Want to save time and money?
    • Be Smart!
  • Want to improve your math assessment score?
    • Be Ready!
  • Why pay for math courses that you've already taken?
    • Think PAWs-itive!

Is PAWs right for me?

Doing your very best on the math assessment may save you time and money. Our goal is to place you in a math course that matches your skill development. To that end, brushing up your math skills may help you avoid 16-48 weeks of basic skills math instruction that you've already learned. We want you to be prepared - not surprised - when you take the math assessment. PAWs is completely FREE!

How Will PAWs help me?

Has it been a while since you've taken a math course? Do you recognize the sample problems but have trouble remembering how to solve them? PAWs is aligned with our math assessment, providing a thorough review of arithmetic, pre-algebra and algebra content. The workshops feature individualized diagnostics and computerized tutorials specific to your needs.

What should I do next?

PAWs is offered on a drop-in basis, year round. You may attend as often as you like. If you think PAWs is right for you, come by ME 100 (Mathematics and Engineering Building, Room 100) during our drop-in hours:

SPRING 2012: Mondays through Fridays: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Special Notice: Students who have earned college credit in math courses or are currently enrolled in a math course long enough to receive a "W" are not eligible for a math assessment retake.
