Honors Program
All honors program applications for spring 2012 must be submitted to the Honors Program Coordinator by October 21 if the student wants to qualify for priority registration.
About the Honors Program
The Honors Transfer Alliance Program offers the opportunity for priority admission to many major universities throughout the state. A seminar-like atmosphere sterns from the small class size (maximum of 15), leading to lively discussions between students and professors.
Students are encouraged to work closely with faculty to pursue creative and/or independent projects. The program also stresses writing, research and critical thinking skills. The course offerings are designed to facilitate transfer to a four-year university, and we offer the services of an honors counselor to assist students in planning their courses.

hideIn the past, coordinators have arranged excursions to the J.P. Getty Museum and the Huntington Library, among other activities. Many honors students also participate in AVC chapters of national collegiate honors societies, such as Alpha Gamma Sigma and Alpha Mu Gamma.
