The AVC Library offers a number of web-based full text periodical, statistical and reference databases. When a student uses these databases, he/she is NOT using an article of unknown quality downloaded from a perhaps dubious Internet site.
These databases are purchased by subscription each year and are electronic versions of reputable publications that already exist in print format.
Below is a list of the databases currently available. Short online guides to using these databases (in PDF format) are available as well. The databases that can be accessed from a home computer are marked with an asterisk (*):

Remote access is available for most of the library's databases.
Many of these can be accessed at home by students, and this feature is especially important for those students involved in distance education.
An ID and Password are generally required for off-campus use. Per licensing agreements with database vendors, students must call the reference desk at (661) 722-6276 and identify the instructor and class they are taking in order to obtain an ID and Password.
