
Before you can begin to search the catalog, you need to become familiar with what is known as the search interface. Simply put, the search interface is the page you view when interacting with the catalog. There are a number of different pages, for a variety of purposes. The following basic pages are examples of what you will see when you begin to use the catalog. The Horizon Information Porta The first page you will see after accessing the catalog is the Horizon Information Portal page. Horizon is the name of our catalog and the page is called the Information Portal. This page shows you what kind of searches and other options are available to you when using the catalog. These searches and options will be discussed in upcoming lessons in this tutorial. An example of the Horizon Information Portal page can be seen below. |

The Information Portal Menu BarsThe Information Portal has two menu bars, accessed by clicking on the appropriate tab:
Search Tab Clicking on the Search Tab shows the Search menu bar. There are two different search modes you may use when searching the catalog.
