    Vehicle Assistance Program

Antelope Valley College security patrol vehicles are equipped with rear mounted batteries in the event a vehicle on campus is stranded due to a dead battery. If you encounter a dead battery, simply call 6399 from any campus phone, *80 from any pay phone, or 722-6399 from your cell phone and an officer will be dispatched to your stranded vehicle for assistance. Be prepared to give your name and phone number at the time of the request.

The campus safety patrol vehicles are also equipped with “slim jims” in the event the keys to the vehicle have been locked in the vehicle. Our officers are trained in retrieving the keys from the vehicles utilizing this device by opening the locked door. However, any vehicle with electric locks or electric windows cannot be opened by our officers utilizing the “slim jim”. This is due to the fact that electricity runs through the door and the “slim jim” may damage the electric motor or wiring inside the door. Be prepared to sign a waiver form at your vehicle before the officer attempts to assist you.
