New Class: Math 116 - Introduction to Statistics Using R
New for Fall - MATH 116 (Introduction to Statistics using R) is designed for STEM majors. This course will cover the common traditional statistical methods taught in a beginning course using the statistical software R. Learning how to do the traditional statistics using R is a perfect preparation to expand to more advanced methods in a known environment.
Course will include statistical reporting of results using R-markdown authoring in the R-Studio program. The use of probability techniques, hypothesis testing, and predictive techniques to facilitate decision-making. Topics include descriptive statistics; probability and sampling distributions; statistical inference; correlation and linear regression; analysis of variance, chi square and t tests.
