AVC Aircraft Fabrication & Assembly Rapid Training Program

Open House and Press Conference to be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday
Palmdale Regional Airport Terminal Building

Antelope Valley College and community partners will host a press conference Thursday, August 3, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to discuss the Aircraft Fabrication and Assembly Rapid Training Program, located in the renovated Palmdale Regional Airport Terminal Building (off Avenue P at 20th Street East, Palmdale).

The rapid training program is specifically design to meet the large demand for a skilled workforce in the local Antelope Valley aerospace and manufacturing industries.  The first cohort of students in the newly renovated Palmdale Regional Airport Terminal Building will complete this week. This program has been developed in partnership with Antelope Valley College, Goodwill Southern California, City of Palmdale and industry partners.

Scheduled to speak: U.S. Congressman Steve Knight; L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger; City of Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford; Orville Dothage, Manager Process Improvement, Northrop Grumman; Patrick McClenahan, Goodwill Southern California CEO; Ed Knudson, Antelope Valley College President/Superintendent; and Dr. Maria Clinton, AVC Faculty.

Tours of the converted airport facility and program demonstrations to follow. Students and program alumni will be available for media interview. Refreshments will be served.
