AVC Instructor Larry Veres Honored for Donating 100 Gallons of Blood
AVC Instructor Larry Veres was recently honored by LifeStream Blood Bank, Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital, San Bernardino County Supervisor Dawn Rowe, Senator Mike Morrell, and Congressman Pete Aguilar, for donating 100 gallons of blood over more than 50 years. Veres began donating blood in 1966 in memory of his children. Veres’ blood is “baby friendly,” which further drove his passion for donating and serving the community’s youngest patients. “Whatever is needed, whatever can help more people, especially children, that’s what I want to do,” Veres says. Veres is the 24th person in the history of LifeStream to donate 100 gallons of blood. The donated blood goes to all Southland hospitals. Congratulations and thank you Larry Veres! The next AVC Blood Drive will take place September 30 from 9am-3pm. Visit redcrossblood.org and enter “avc” to schedule an appointment.
