Movie Screening: A Million Miles Away
 

Date: Thursday, September 19

Time: 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Location: The Hub

Join us for a screening of A Million Miles Away, the true story of José Hernández, a migrant farmworker who became a NASA astronaut. Experience his journey of determination and success. In addition, join us for the opportunity to meet José Hernández at our Equity Speaker Series the following day.

Jose Hernandez, University of California Regent and CEO of Tierra Luna Engineering, LLC, and former NASA Astronaut, will be presenting a keynote speech at Antelope Valley College as part of the Equity Speaker Series.

Join us for this free event to engage with Hernandez during his keynote speech followed by an interactive Q&A and meet and greet sessions.

Legacy of Service: Latine Student Veteran Voices
 

Date: Tuesday, October 8

Time: 12pm – 1:30pm

Join the Veterans Resource Center as we provide a platform for Latinx student veterans to discuss their journeys, challenges, and triumphs in transitioning from military service to academic life. This panel will also seek to offer support and guidance to other Latinx veterans and students, while fostering a greater understanding among the broader academic community.
