Antelope Valley College & Marauder Athletics mourns the passing of Brent Carder, AVC's former football coach, and athletic director. Brent began his career at AVC in 1969 and added the duties of Athletic Director in 1975.  Under his leadership, AVC won two state titles, seven conference championships and appeared in 13 post-season bowl games, in which the Marauders were undefeated. Brent believed in the full development of student-athletes and he created an academic support group for athletes and AVC still boasts more California Community College Scholar Athlete Awards than any other California Community College. To show the esteem Antelope Valley College had for him, the campus' stadium is named in his honor, the Brent Carder Marauder Stadium.

Coach Carder led by example and inspired young people to achieve. He epitomized professionalism and represented AVC with dignity.
