Mentorship Opportunity: Rose Bowl Game Mentorship Program

Submitted by webmaster on Wed, 09/01/2021 - 15:33

The application period for the first-ever Rose Bowl Game Mentorship Program is now open through September 30, 2021. This unique virtual and in-person mentoring opportunity connects college students in the Los Angeles area, who are pursuing careers in the sports industry, with experienced Rose Bowl Game personnel for exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the inner workings of the “The Granddaddy of Them All.” The Rose Bowl Game Mentorship Program is open to active two-year and four-year college sophomores, juniors, and seniors, who are seeking careers in events, marketing, media, production, and operations. The program consists of an eight-week tailored mentorship experience that will begin the week of November 1, and will formally conclude the week of December 20. However, an optional behind-the-scenes look will be granted the week of December 27 as well as two tickets to attend the 108th Rose Bowl Game on January 1, 2022.

The program will select a total of seven mentees who will each be paired with a Rose Bowl Game staff member in a 1:1 format that aligns with the mentee’s personal area of interest. The program will kick off with a meet and greet and will continue with weekly scheduled calls, potential in-person shadowing opportunities, and a private session with the Rose Bowl Game Chief Administrative Officer. The program will also focus on mentee development by establishing goals, providing resume and portfolio review, networking opportunities, and bridging the mentee’s in-class learnings with the mentor’s existing job functions. The program is flexible and will be structured to accommodate both the mentee’s and mentor’s schedules.

If you’re able to help spread the word on this new and exciting program, we’d really appreciate your help. Whether it’s sharing directly with students or posting the materials provided in the link below, we want to ensure eligible students have the information they need to apply.

Submissions are due no later than September 30 and application instructions are available via the Tournament of Roses website:
