AVC Welcomes New Vice President of Student Services

Idania Padron Antelope Valley College is pleased to welcome our new Vice President of Student Services, Idania Padrón. Today is her first official day working for AVC. Ms. Padrón comes to us with expertise in Student Services, budget management, team building, and identifying creative solutions for student success. Congratulations, Ms. Padrón!

Idania Padrón is the new Vice President of Student Services at Antelope Valley College. She served as Dean of Student Support Services at El Camino Community College where she devoted the last 17 years toward building teams and programs that focus on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access (DEIA).

Prior to working in higher education, Idania held leadership roles in federal and local governments in Washington, D.C., and Virginia with Workforce Development and the Office of Management and Budget. As a first-generation and low-income community college student herself, she has firsthand knowledge of the challenges students face in navigating the college system. Idania has a Political Science degree from USC, a Public Administration Master’s degree from George Mason University and she is currently finishing her doctoral degree at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) in Educational Leadership. Idania is passionate about serving students and looks forward to collaborating with faculty, staff, and administrators to make a positive difference in the lives of the students Antelope Valley College serves. Idania has a love for the great outdoors and tries to find time for camping, bike riding, and walking in nature.
