Student Development: Associated Student Organization (ASO)

The Associated Student Organization (ASO) of Antelope Valley College is the campus student government.  They are a collection of students who are dedicated to coordinating the representation and action of student opinion.  Meetings are held to discuss and perform action on issues that affect the student population.  ASO supports the students by maintaining and promoting a social, cultural, and educational atmosphere at Antelope Valley College.  ASO participates in shared governance committee meetings providing student input and lobbying for the student interest.

Centering Student Voices Panel

 

Join ASO for a student-led panel with questions asked by AVC students! This panel focuses on amplifying student voices and the importance of voter engagement. Students will have the opportunity to hear multiple perspectives from professors of various subjects. Students are encouraged to ask questions regarding civil involvement, advocacy, and the Lancaster City Council Election coming up on April 14th. Voter registration for the April 14th election closes on March 30th.

Student Resources

  • ASO Emergency Grant - Apply for a one-time assistance of up to $500

    • Students must meet the following requirements:

      • Must be an active ASO Member (ASO Stickers can be purchased as a combo with semester parking or individually for $10 at Cashier's Office)

      • Currently enrolled at AVC with a minimum of 6 units 

      • Must have completed at least one semester previously 

      • Must be making academic progress according to their Education Plan

      • 2.0 Cumulative GPA

      • Submitted FAFSA through Financial Aid department or CA Dream Act Application (if applicable)

      • Attach bills, invoices, etc. that match student's name and address on the application

Please note that all approved grants will not exceed $500 at any time and grants will be issued according to funding.
