EOPS Announces NextUP Foster Youth Program

Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) is rolling out a new program called NextUp, which provides current and former foster youth with support and services while they attend a California Community College. Services include academic advising, textbooks, priority registration, supplies and grants for unmet needs. To be eligible, students must be current or former foster youth, be enrolled in at least nine units, be under the age of 26, provide proof of dependency and be eligible for EOPS. Eligibility

  • Current or former foster youth
  • Enrolled in at least 9 units
  • Under the age 26 at the start of the academic year
  • In an out-of-home placement, dependency, or ward of the court on or after their 13th birthday
  • Provide proof of dependency
  • Eligible for EOPS
