Teaching English in a Foreign Country

Want to work in France? or Germany? or Equador? Consider teaching English as a second language! Since English is the language of international business and research, there is a large demand for native speakers to teach English abroad. Although the highest demand for English as Second Language teachers is in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and the Middle East, possibilities exist throughout the world. The best preparation is a Bachelor’s degree and the TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) or TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate.

And, of course, knowing the language of the country will help communication with your students and will be essential to your integrating into the local culture, so start learning the language of the country while working on your Bachelor’s.
