Welcome Week at the Lancaster Campus and Palmdale Center is filled with activities, events, and helpful information to greet both new and returning Antelope Valley College students. It’s a chance to explore campus resources, meet friendly staff, and get the guidance you need as you settle into your classes and campus life.

• Social media challenge that invites YOU to celebrate campus life by sharing your favorite AVC moments. Throughout the week, post a picture or video to your Instagram Story, tagging both your favorite AVC program page and @avccollegeca, to win prizes.

Kindness Wall

• Start the semester with encouragement, empathy, and inspiration. The Declaration of Strength Kindness Wall is a week-long interactive display where you can leave a note of affirmation or take one to lift your spirits. Let’s remind each other: you are not alone, and your words matter.
   
• Date/Location: All week at the Commons Construction Fence (outside of the SSV Building)

Meet Your Campus Leaders

• Join us for a day of connection and conversation as we invite you to meet the faces behind the titles. From Board Trustees to the College Superintendent/President, Vice Presidents, and Deans to our incredible student leaders! This is your chance to engage with those shaping your campus experience.
   
• Date/Location: Tuesday, August 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Services Building (SSV)

Boots, Beats and Treats

• Grab your boots and bring your energy! Join us for an afternoon of line dancing, games, live DJ beats, a themed photo booth, campus program tabling, and delicious vendors treats. Whether you’re new to AVC or returning for another exciting semester, this is your chance to connect, relax, and kick off the new school year with some Wild West flavor and serious campus vibes.
   
• Date/Location: Wednesday, August 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Library Plaza

Ready. Set. Hired.

• Join us for AVC’s Career Connection Day & Hiring Fair, where opportunity meets preparation. Students will have access to free resume critiques, professional headshots, and even a business casual clothing rack to help you dress for success at no cost. Explore career pathways, network with on-campus departments and local employers, and take advantage of on-the-spot interviews.
   
• Date/Location: Thursday, August 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Sage Hall
