Meeting agendas will be posted 72 hours prior to the meeting per Brown Act compliance. 

The Academic Senate meeting is a public meeting and all are welcome to attend. We ask that individuals wishing to address the senate during Open Comments or on specific agenda items submit a request by noon of the day of the meeting.

Public comment or requests to address the body can be submitted via email to: Hal Huntsman, Senate President, and Darlene O'Keeffe, Senate Coordinator, at  Academic.Senate@avc.edu. We request that Public comments during Open Comments or on agenda items be kept to under 3 minutes.

Senate Meeting Location for All meetings are in Conference Room L-201, unless specifically noted otherwise.

Please note BoardDocs includes agendas, minutes, and attachments for the academic years of 2017/2018 through the present.

To view meeting agendas and minutes in BoardDocs, make sure to first select "Academic Senate" from the list of options on the top right side of the screen.  This will allow you to view agendas and minutes by meeting date.

Public Records Requests:

Please note that requests for any senate records, other than the agendas and minutes (which are readily available on BoardDocs), must go through the AVC Public Records Request process. This includes requests to listen to recordings* of the meetings and it applies to public requests as well as requests from AVC employees, including Senate members. 

*Please note that meeting recordings are taken for the purpose of minutes transcription only, and are destroyed once the minutes are approved.

To make a Public Records Request please follow the process laid out HERE. Note that it is not necessary to complete the Public Records Request Form; however, it is advisable for more involved requests. At minimum, you may simply send an email to publicrecordsrequest@avc.edu stating exactly what it is that you are requesting.
