Student Development: Student Clubs & Organizations

All registered students are eligible for membership in the clubs and organizations of their choice. Students are encouraged to form additional clubs and organizations to meet special needs or interests.  All new clubs and organizations are a part of the Inter-Club Council (ICC) after approval from the Board of Trustees.  Having a minimum of 10 students, faculty advisor and completing the necessary paperwork is all that is needed to begin.  The Student Development Office, located in the HUB assists all clubs in processing paperwork and maintaining all the club's financial records and banking needs.

Active Clubs, Fall 2026

  • A2MEND Club

    • Advisor:  Scott Lee, scott.lee@avc.edu
    • Meetings: Bi-monthly on Friday's at 1:00p.m in T300 - #B
    • Club Focus:  To advocate for the academic, psychological, and spiritual development of Black male students, faculty, staff, and administrators within educational systems.

  • Anthropology Club

    • Advisor:  Dr. Darcy Wiewall, darcy.wiewall@avc.edu
    • Meetings: Weekly on Friday's at 12:00p.m in UH - 223
    • Club Focus:  To provide students of all academic backgrounds and fields of study the opportunity to explore the discipline of anthropology in all its facets:  archaeological, cultural, biological, and linguistic. Thereby, sponsoring original research opportunities, open lectures, forums, and activities related to the discipline.

  • AVC Business Club

    • Advisor:  Kent Burgdorfer, kent.burgdorfer@avc.edu
    • Meetings: Bi-weekly on Thursday's at 3:30p.m in MH - 319
    • Club Focus:  To help students explore the world of business through marketing, entrepreneurship, branding, and business analysis. The club provides opportunities to learn how to start and grow a business, evaluate successful brands, and develop professional skills through collaboration and real-world business experiences.

  • AVC Gamers Club

    • Advisor:  Francisco Fuentes, francisco.fuentes@avc.edu
    • Meetings: Bi-monthly on Monday's at 4:00p.m in CH - 244
    • Club Focus:  The AVC Gamers Club provides a welcoming community for students to participate in competitive and non-competitive gaming events and social gatherings.

  • AVC Rotary Club

    • Advisor:  John Vento, john.vento@avc.edu
    • Meetings: Monthly on Tuesday's at 4:30p.m in CH - 132
    • Club Focus:  The AVC Rotaract Club empowers young adults to take action through community and international service, develop leadership skills, engage in professional growth, and embrace cultural diversity while gaining a global perspective. 

  • Ballet Folkorico de AVC

    • Advisor:  Alberto Mendoza Gonzalez Larreynaga, alberto.mendozagonza@avc.edu
    • Meetings: Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday's at 2:00p.m at the PAT
    • Club Focus:  To promote Mexican culture through traditional folkloric dance, providing students opportunities to perform, learn, and share cultural traditions while exposing the campus and community to fun and engaging cultural experiences.

  • Black Student Union

    • Advisor:  Scott Lee, scott.lee@avc.edu
    • Meetings: Bi-Monthly on Monday's at 11:00a.m in Library
    • Club Focus:  The Black Student Union (BSU) fosters unity, cultural pride, and awareness among Black students. We provide a safe space for support, empowerment, and open dialogue, while educating the broader community about Black history, culture, and current issues. BSU is committed to uplifting all people and building a unified community.

  • CNSA Club

    • Meetings: Monthly on Saturday's at 10:00a.m in Nursing Skills Lab
    • Club Focus:  The CNSA Club fosters professional behavior and supports the transition from student to professional nurse through leadership, activism, and advocacy.

  • Deaf Studies Association

    • Meetings: Monthly on Friday's at 12:00p.m in CH - 304
    • Club Focus:  To create a welcoming space for new and beginning students interested in expanding their awareness and understanding of Deaf culture.

  • Film & Television Club

    • Club Focus:  To create an engaging campus environment where students can make, watch, and discuss films while exploring the art, techniques, and production of film and television.

  • Health Occupations and Professional Educators (HOPE)

    • Meetings: Bi-Monthly on Tuesday's at 1:00p.m in UH - 134
    • Club Focus:  To guide students through their pre-health pathways by providing access to essential resources, information, and professional development opportunities. 

  • Japanese Culture Club

    • Advisor:  Junko Suzuki, junko.suzuki@avc.edu
    • Meetings: Weekly on Thursday's at 3:30p.m in CH - 236
    • Club Focus:  To promote interest in and celebrate both traditional and modern Japanese culture. The club provides a welcoming space for students to explore Japanese customs, arts, language, history, and popular culture while fostering cultural appreciation, community engagement, and cross cultural understanding. 

  • Kids In Nutrition

    • Club Focus:  A student-led movement that advances food justice, promotes sustainable food systems, and improves health outcomes for youth and families through food literacy and access.

  • Literature Club

    • Club Focus:  To create a welcoming space for literature enthusiasts to connect, share ideas, and promote literacy across the campus community.

  • Marauders Drive Network

    • Club Focus:  To help students build experience, serve their community, and connect with career opportunities through networking with mentors, employers, and community partners.

  • Marauders Racing Club

    • Club Focus:  To provide hands-on experience in motorsports and raise awareness of the field through collaborative projects, events, and educational outreach.

  • Music Club

    • Club Focus:  To provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for Antelope Valley College students to explore, enjoy, and perform music.

  • Photo-Network & Media Team

    • Club Focus:  To connect AVC photographers with professionals, schools, museums, and galleries while fostering creativity, collaboration, and growth in photography and media arts.

    • Club Focus:  To promote diversity and expand access to higher education in the legal field. It provides students with valuable skills and experiences to prepare for the future careers, while fostering character development and a strong sense of community engagement.

  • Rushing Wind CMI

    • Club Focus:  To helping students develop a deeper understanding of Christ while providing a safe and welcoming environment where individuals can ask questions, explore their faith, and engage in meaningful discussions without fear of judgment. 

  • Sista2Sista

    • Club Focus:  To promote academic and professional growth for women on campus.

  • Society of Women Engineers

    • Advisor:  John Berger, john.berger@avc.edu
    • Meetings: Bi-Monthly at 1:30p.m in DL - 123
    • Club Focus:  The AVC Society of Women Engineers empowers and supports women in STEM by fostering a community that values diversity, inclusion, and excellence. Through networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, we encourage growth and leadership in STEM fields.

  • Umoja Club

    • Meetings: Weekly on Wednesday's at 1:15p.m in T-300 #A - Umoja Village
    • Club Focus:  The Umoja Club provides a supportive and welcoming environment where students can connect with others who share similar experiences, fostering unity and a sense of belonging.  

  • Welding Club

    • Meetings: Bi-monthly on Monday's at 11:30a.m and Thursday's at 12:30p.m in DL - Conference Room
    • Club Focus: The Welding Club builds a strong community of students passionate about hands-on experience, while promoting creativity, innovation, and skill development in welding.
