Raise Awareness and Support Survivors During Denim Day Activities
Jeans

Antelope Valley College Student Health in partnership with Basic Needs invites students and staff to participate in four events leading up to Denim Day, an international day of awareness for survivors of sexual violence, to stand in solidarity with survivors and challenge victim-blaming attitudes.

Denim Drive: Individuals are encouraged to donate gently used jeans or pre-owned denim. Bring in denim items that have been worn but are still in good condition to the Student Health Office (SSV 187) that will be used in the denim decorating event.

Decorate Your Denim: Bring your own denim or choose donated items from the drive to personalize and show support through artistic expression. Decorating stations will be set up along the walkway between The HUB and Student Services (SSV). Participants will be encouraged to bring their decorated denim for a photo opportunity.

Show Your Denim Photo Op: On Denim Day 2025, wear your decorated jeans, or any denim, and be part of a group photo to show the importance of standing together to end victim-blaming and support survivors.

“What Were You Wearing” Showcase: Visit the 'What You Were Wearing' showcase, which highlights the widespread issue of sexual violence among college students and works to challenge the harmful practice of victim-blaming based on clothing.

Please join us in this global movement to challenge harmful stereotypes, raise awareness, and show support for survivors of sexual violence.
