Antelope Valley College students are invited to attend events throughout the month of April at the Student Commons at the Palmdale Center in recognition of Deaf History Month.
Deaf History Month Workshops
Gain insight and learn basic American Sign Language skills during two workshop sessions that will empower communication effectively, build confidence, and connect with the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
- Deaf Culture: April 8 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
- Finger Spelling: April 22 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Movie Day
Students can stop by to watch “CODA” during Deaf History Month Movie Day, with the film streaming throughout the day.

Deaf History Month Panel Discussion
Join AVC students and staff for a Deaf History Month Panel Discussion where panel members will share their experiences and engage in a Q&A to build community and connections.
