Mission Statement

The Basic Needs Committee’s mission is to help Antelope Valley College students access on-campus and community resources to maximize student success in achieving educational goals. The committee strives to connect students with resources available, both on-campus and in the community that will address students’ basic needs so they can remain focused on education. The committee actively builds linkages and collaboration with partner agencies in the community that can help students meet their basic needs. Lastly, the committee seeks to promote awareness of resources to all students, faculty and staff.

Food Resources

  • Marauder Market
    • Held the 2nd and 4th Thursdays beginning at 10am in the Lancaster Parking Lot A4 or Palmdale Center Sidewalk.
  • ASO Hearts & Hands Pantry
    • Weekly option - Pantry is located in the SCT hallway between the Cafeteria and Bookstore. 
      • Mondays 12-2:30 PM
      • Tuesdays 11-2 PM
    • Daily Option
      • Monday-Friday
      • T 700 E - Student Life Office
    • Fill out the Application to join the program
  • CalFresh

Clothing Resources

  • Dress for Success Program / Winter Coat Drive

  • Campus Showers (Make an appointment to utilize our Campus Locker Rooms)

      • Please note that these supplies are for student's personal use and are available based on current inventory supplies.
      • The items are available in the Student Life Office upon request.
