Apply for $1,000 Scholarship from Community College League of California

AVC students are encouraged to apply for the Community College League of California $1,000 scholarship. 

The newly created scholarship is funded by the proceeds from the 2021 book A College for All Californians: A History of the California Community Colleges, co-edited by League President & CEO Larry A. Galizio, Ph.D. and George Boggs, Ph.D., president and CEO Emeritus of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and superintendent/president emeritus of Palomar College.  

The scholarships are open to students enrolled in six or more units at any of California’s community colleges. Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and work a minimum 10 hours weekly. Applicants must also submit short responses to questions about their community college experiences and plans.   

Applications for the scholarship will be accepted through March 31, 2024, and awards announced in early May.
